My journey into live-event photography began by accident, prompted by my daughter Bailey's involvement in Piney Grove Middle School's production of Shrek the Musical. Initially, my intention was to capture a few images of my daughter, but as the production unfolded, I found myself captivated by various scenes, thinking, "this would be a great photo." And so, I began taking pictures. To my surprise, I was incredibly pleased with the results, which inspired me to compile them into a photo book.
Encouraged by this experience, I continued photographing subsequent productions the following year, and it soon turned into a habit. Drawing from my own past involvement in theatre during my youth, where I have only memories and no photographs, I felt a sense of regret. Determined to capture the magic and preserve the memories, I started capturing images of not only my children's performances but also the productions of my friends. Soon, I found myself documenting numerous shows.
What initially began as a love for capturing moments for my kids transformed into a deep passion for the local theatre community, particularly here in Forsyth County. This realization inspired me to create this website, which is not driven by monetary motives. My goal is to support and promote the local theatre scene by providing high-quality photographs that showcase the incredible work being done.
However, it's important to note that this endeavor does come with certain expenses, including equipment and time investment. If you have enjoyed my work and would like to see more, I welcome and appreciate any donations. Your generosity will aid in purchasing additional equipment or justify the time spent away from home. But if you choose not to donate, that's perfectly fine as well. I will continue capturing and sharing photographs so that if you happen to find yourself on a stage that I am shooting, you will have a cherished memento of that special occasion.
